The Choice: iPhone 6S or Galaxy S7 Edge?πŸ€”

It was between the Apple iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Before that I had a LG G5. While I loved the LG G5, I had dropped it and it wasn't worth the price to repair. I was lucky becuase, my contract was up and I was able to get a new phone with out paying the hardware upgrade fee. So there I was stuck with a decision to get the iPhone 6S or the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The iPhone I wanted because, I have a Macbook and three things I like is the App Support for iOS, the screen and Airdrop. The cons were, the storage size was maxed out at 128GB, no removable storage,no water resistance (not IP certified) and, the battery life. (1715mAh)

The GS7 Edge has removable storage so I can put upto a 200GB microSD card, it is water resistant (IP68 certified) and the battery capacity is huge! (3600mAh) The only cons were, App Support meaing there were apps on iOS that were not availible on the Android platform. Another thing was Air Drop. While I can use AirDroid for the GS7 Edge, the convience of Airdrop is better.

So what did I choose? The GS7 Edge. What made me go for the GS7 Edge over the iPhone in the end? Two things, the price and the main thing is the camera. As a person that shoots photos, the camera is the most important and battery life is second.

The iPhone 6S has a 12MP 1/3" Sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 29mm lens. The focus system is a phase detection system with dual tone flash.

The Galaxy S7 Edge has a 12MP 1/2.5mm Sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and 26mm lens. The focus system is a phase dectection system with optical stabiliaztion (OIS) and LED flash.

Four things in my opinion that made the GS7 Edge camera a winner for me, the f-stop is 1.7 so better low light , a fast auto focus system for getting the shot, shoots manual for more control and outputs DNG RAW for full information of the photo.

I have had the GS7 Edge for eight months and I usually don't have a phone longer than 6 months. I like this phone that much and the GS8 Edge has to really worth it in features for me to upgrade.
